The origin of the word comes from the latin expression “litterae” which means letters or instructions, group of knowledge or skills for writing and reading well. It is also related to grammar, rhetoric and poetry.
Literature represents written or spoken words marked with the careful usage of language, including features such as creative metaphors, well-turned phrases, elegant syntax, rhyme, alliteration and meter. It must be included in a literary genre (poetry, prose fiction, or drama) and it is intended by the author to be read aesthetically. Spoken words are also considered literature because of the genres of poetry and drama (plays and interpretations) and most probable because this was the way epic stories were transmitted from generation to generation before the invention of the Gutenberg press.
Sometimes considered the science of well writing, other times considered the art of the words; literature has been with mankind since the interpretation of the first cave paintings.
That brings us to the general question: What is Literature? Can simple pictures of the history of mankind be considered Literature? If so, Can body art like Tattoos and Piercing be considered a form of Literature, because of the interpretation we give to this art?

Is the art of writing everything related to the man(nature, science, live,death,etc,.)following a pattern, where the main purpose of the author is to transmit emotion through the words, and so catch the readers attention.

Literature is a word used to express something that people do with art creative. People can sing, paint, white, draw and do things for identified a society using their hands or their main an idea, a fact, custom or called literature because those actions give up information to take knowledge about at the present or past state.
What is Literature? : It is a art, which use the words to produce feelings in the reader. Literature works whit semantic. Literature is everything and it is everywhere. Can simple pictures of the history of mankind be considered Literature? : I think pictures are literature because them express a message and give an information producing bad or good feelings in the person who watch them. If so, Can body art like Tattoos and Piercing be considered a form of Literature, because of the interpretation we give to this art? : Yes, both are art to many people. It depends about the point of view of the person, the way about what is art to a person. If they express information, have a purpose and produce feelings to a person are forms of literature.

about the question "Can simple pictures of the history of mankind be considered Literature?" my answer is yes, the "authors " of those paintings tried to express something through that, and they did, so i consider it as literatura. body arts also can be considered as literature since the person who wears that pearcing or/and tattoo wishes to say something to other people or to him or herself through it
